The Dawn Redwood has been called "a living fossil" because it was first discovered in Japan in 1941 and then found growing in the wild in China. The species is over 50 million years old. It is a very hardy and gorgeous tree. Not only to I admire it's beauty but just knowing that this type of tree was here 50 million years ago is just amazing to me. I just figured that I should have one on my little acre here on earth. In the middle of nowhere someone offered biker a free parking spot under some shade trees on a couple acres, with free water. They're just extremely nice people who didn't expect anything in return. There are some very nice people out in the world. It really in the middle of nowhere too.... miles away from anyone else.

We always hear of the bad guys out there but rarely hear about the good guys. Oddly enough I've been far more good guys on bikes than bad guys. It's just the opposite of what most people think. Most bikers are out there at least 1 day every two weeks doing something for a charity. We're there helping kids at Christmas, help some parent pay for the funeral of their child, and many other things. Think about that when you see a biker riding out there on the road.

PeeWee is Back!

PeeWee is Back!
Originally uploaded by Richard Elzey
Poor old Paul... he get's caught once in a theater and is banished forever... lol I'm still amazed by how strange he became!

I've seen where the movie PeeWee's Big Adventures was making a come back with a lot of kids I guess. The bike saw most of Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Florida, and some of Georgia, Indiana, and Oklahoma. I got a lot of smiles out of that bike. Compared to what I ride today it was a basic bike but I'd sure give anything to spend a day out on it again. If your a biker you understand, the smells, sounds, and scenery are awesome when your on a bike. Things you'd never notice in a car you'll notice on the bike. Just looking at the picture brings back so many memories of places I've been and people I've meet and visited on it. So many days in the Army where all I had was $10 and went and spent the whole day until dark out riding through Kansas. Then the 11 day ride I took from Kansas to Kentucky and forgot to tell Mom what I was doing. Of course never called home and got caught in a few storms and tornado. lol

Awesome days.... I don't think my new bike will ever bring carefree memories like that Kaw 454 did.
